Chapter 5: Romans versus Egyptians |

| The great stadium in Rome is the venue
for the greatest wrestling event ever held in the city. Today, the
third day of the games, is a very special day as Roman citizens will be
fighting wrestlers from other parts of the Roman World. The arena
is full to burst with a crowd who have come to see their own citizens
defeat the inferior foreigners. It is mid morning and the organisers have arranged a mini-tournament between the Roman and Egyptian wrestlers. First the men will fight, then the women and the winners of the two fights will battle it out to become the overall victor. Here are a small selection from the opening stages of the three fights featured in this story. Enjoy! |
