Continued from part 7: Sancha and Marco's six month trip to Japan had transformed their finances. They arrived heavily in debt, but as a result of Sancha's TV appearance fees they would be going home to Spain with a small fortune in the bank. Before leaving Japan, Sancha had just one more competitive event - "WaGs night at the Circuit Nippon" (the Japanese branch of the exclusive underground Circuit fight club). This is an unique event which is held annually at the club premises in Tokyo. Each year a renowned fighter is invited to be the "Dominator" for the evening, fighting up to 10 selected Wives and Girlfriends (WaGs) of club members. Each fight lasts a maximum of 15 minutes followed by a 5 minute break, with $1000 awarded for each pin or submission and $5000 for a KO or retirement. If the Dominator is forced to retire then the WaG becomes the Dominator for the remainder of the evening. Sancha has accepted a $50,000 appearance fee to be this year's Dominator. The previous year's event featured a world famous Japanese pro-wrestler as the Dominator and it was a brutal affair for the WaGs. The Dominator showed no mercy, forcing 8 of her 10 opponents to retire with two being seriously injured. The whole event was over in less than 2 hours and the Dominator walked away from the evening $120,000 richer, but leaving the club members feeling somewhat dispirited. This year the club hoped that by recruiting Sancha, who had had has some notable defeats in the ring, as the Dominator the WaGs will have more of a chance of getting some points. So a week before Sancha and Marco were due to depart for home the members of the Circuit Nippon club took their seats for their annual "WaGs vs. the Dominator" event .... |
